August 2017 Review

Coach Spen here …

August has been another busy month for use with some changes to the some of the classes, we have had some great feed back on the new structure but please let us know what you think!!

Roll models in Stoke is a great little event now over 2 day, in day 1 Johnny (silver) and Shaine (Bronze) from our Fulinkazan Leeds club both picked up a couple of medals in there first grappling competition, Joanne Doyle and Danny Stirk picked up another gold medal each in the nogi division on day 2.

We had a fantastic with the master of the “Game Changing Sh*t” system David Onuma, he covered some excellent content around guard for MMA and grappling. We are hoping to get him back soon, but we need more people to support the seminars.

The day after the David Onuma seminar we had 2 of our fighters, compete on the Combat Challenge show in Bradford, starting the night for use was Callum Mullen in a boxing bout. Callum show some fantastic skills and power which lead to him winning by KO in round 3.

After 3 different opponents, Abu entered the cage making short work of a game opponent, quickly taking him down and finishing him by RNC in under 50 seconds.

We had a cracking outing at the Empire Grappling competition in Manchester with the Fulinkazan Team (Leeds and Bradford) picking up 8 Medals for the Combat Base group who was crowned the Overall team champions. Well done to everyone who competed.

Shane from FU Leeds finished August for us by picking up a Bronze medal at the All Stars Grappling Competition which was held in Manchester.

Lets keep up the great work team!
