SBG Bradford Fighter Jo “The Menace” Doyle signs with Ruby Sports and Entertainment

SBG Bradford fighter Joanne Doyle has signed a professional management contract with US-based agency, Ruby Sports and Entertainment.

They work with a number of leading combat athletes and major promotions including the UFC, Bellator and Invicta FC. Female UFC stars Joanne Calderwood and Mackenzie Dern are already on their books.

Ruby Sports and Entertainment will now liaise with Joanne Doyle and her SBG coaches to match her with opponents and develop her career on a global basis.

Speaking on her Instagram, Joanne said: ”I’m excited to announce my signing with the amazing Ruby Sports and Entertainment team. Massive thanks to my coaches, team and sponsors for their continued support. I’m looking forward to the future.”

SBG Bradford Head Coach Mark Spencer added: “On behalf of all the gym, I’d like to congratulate our fighter and coach Joanne on her deal with Ruby Sports and Entertainment.
It’s fantastic to see her take the next step in what is already an impressive fight career.”

Joanne Doyle is no stranger to fighting overseas. In 2018, she fought the American Chi Sheibley in Florida for the World Class Fight League Flyweight title. Joanne narrowly lost the three-round contest by split decision but impressed many neutral observers with her style and determination.

She has also coached and competed for both the UK and England teams in International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) World and Continental Championships, in Europe and the Middle East. In 2016, Joanne won the Featherweight gold medal at the IMAAF European Championships and a bronze at Bantamweight , at the federation’s 2017 World Championships.

As well as her rapidly developing MMA career, Joanne is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and coaches at SBG Bradford, including a regular women only class.

SBG Bradford already has one pro-fighter contracted to a major international promotion. The gym’s welterweight athlete Furqan ‘The Lion’ Cheema is signed to Singapore-based One Fight Championship and was in action in November 2019. Speaking to the Conandaily.com website, he recently expressed his interest in a match with Philippines-based Richard “Notorious” Criminal.
